I'm in a lot of writers groups.
It wasn't until fellow writers in these groups started talking about their research that I realised I too have a strange search history that may be perceived as slightly incriminating.
I thought I might share it with you...
I've recently Googled:
Yes, death, dying and how to kill someone is a re-occurring theme. I promise this is 100% research for my next novel The Grey and I'm not planning on attempting to do any of these things!!!
I'm slightly embarrassed by these last searches, but I'll share it anyway because I'm not perfect. I blame the fact that it was getting late, I was tired, I'd been writing for around ten hours at this point and I should've called it a night.
Instead, I searched:
Sadly, I didn't find a better word for face but I did learn the difference between effect and affect and I judged myself for not already knowing it.
I also felt stupid after having asked if there are birds in the desert, honestly I don't know what was going through my head when I decided to Google that one!
As for how much poo pelicans have, well, that surprised me.
I ended up writing about it, so you'll have to read The Grey to find out the answer to that one.
Alternatively, you could Google it yourself, but reading my upcoming book seems like a better idea.
I'll let you know when it's out!
