It all began one summer holidays. I was fourteen and restless (I always loved school, so I hated being on holidays), I needed something to pass the time, so I decided to write a novel. After I finished that manuscript the ideas just kept coming and I was writing every chance I could get. When I finished High School I completed a Diploma of Creative Writing, it helped me realise that being an author is a dream I couldn't possibly give up. I now have at least 30 story ideas laying in wait, I'll get through them all, one day!
I can thank my father and grandfather for giving me my best party trick; my colourblindness. Only 0.6% of the female population is colour blind, which makes me a rare specimen!
My favourite book as a child was The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I love it, it's a classic. Speaking of classics, I'm sure it won't come as a surprise that I've read the Harry Potter Series at least twenty-five times. My favourite authors are Jodi Picoult, Cathy Glass and John Marsden. The Tomorrow Series is without a doubt the best series I have ever had my hands on. If I had to name an all time favourite character I'd say it's Ellie Linton.
I do 99% of my writing from the comfort of my bed. It's probably not the best option ergonomically, but I'm most inspired when I'm comfortable.
I have a slight obsession with pink, grey, cushions and cosy blankets. Which is why my bed is a combination of pink and grey blankets and throw cushions. I currently have eleven cushions and five blankets on my bed. It makes for the cosiest writing quarters!
